Estate Planning Documents

Wills, powers of attorney and healthcare directives — witnessed and notarized at your home or bedside

Quick Answer

Estate documents only protect your family if they are executed correctly. Ronit notarizes wills, trust documents, financial powers of attorney, healthcare powers of attorney and advance directives (living wills) at your home, your attorney's office, a hospital or a care facility — with the patience these signings deserve and the witnesses coordinated in advance when a document requires them.

Estate documents only protect your family if they are executed correctly. One boundary is stated plainly, because Maryland law requires it: a notary is not an attorney. Ronit cannot draft your documents or advise which ones you need — that is your attorney's role (or your own, for documents you prepared). What she guarantees is the execution: proper identification, willing and aware signers, correct witnessing and a flawless notarial certificate, so the documents you bring are signed in a way that holds up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you prepare my will or power of attorney for me?

No. Under Maryland law a notary may not draft legal documents or give legal advice. Bring documents prepared by your attorney — or reputable forms you completed yourself — and Ronit will handle the witnessing and notarization so they are executed correctly.

Do I need witnesses as well as a notary?

Often, yes. Maryland wills, for example, are signed in the presence of two witnesses, and some powers of attorney require witnesses in addition to notarization. Tell us which documents you have when you book, and we will make sure the right people are in the room.

Can you notarize a healthcare directive in a hospital?

Yes — hospital signings are a regular part of this practice, coordinated with family and facility staff. The signer must be able to communicate that they understand and want to sign; if that is in question, call first and we will talk through the options honestly.
